Gone

Wednesday, May 26th, 2004

she told him she’d rather fix her makeup
than try to fix what’s going on
but the problem keeps on calling
even with the cellphone gone
she told him that she believes in living
bigger than she’s living now
but her world keeping spinning backwards
and upsidedown
don’t say so long in the cellphone
don’t spend today away
’cause today will soon be

Gone, like yesterday is gone,
like history is gone,
just try to prove me wrong
and pretend like you’re immortal

she said he said live like no tomorrow
every day we borrow
brings us one step closer to the edge (infinity)
where your treasure, where’s your hope
forget the world and lose your soul
she pretends like she pretends like she’s immortal
don’t say so long
you’re not that far gone
this could be your big change to make up
today will soon be

Gone, like yesterday is gone,
like history is gone,
the world keeps spinning on,
you’re going going gone,
like summer break is gone,
like saturday is gone
just trying to prove me wrong
your pretend like you’re immortal, you’re immortal

we are not infinite
we are not permanent
nothing is immediate
we’re so confident
in our accomplishments
look at how dark it is

Gone, like Frank Sinatra
like Elvis and his mom
like Al Pacino’s cash, nothing lasts in this life
my high school dreams are gone
my childhood sweets are gone
like es a day that doesn’t last for long

life is more than money
time was never money
time was never cash,
life still more than girls
life is more thand hundred dollar bills
and oh the town fills
life is more than fame and rock and roll and thrills
all the riches of the kings and up in wills
we got information in the information age
but do we know what life is
outside of our convenient Lexus cages

she said he said live like no tomorrow
every moment that we borrow
brings us closer to the God who’s not short of cash
hey Bono, I’m glad you asked
life is still worth living
life is still worth living

Wow, so it’s been a while

Not that anyone really reads this anyway, but it’s been a while since I have written. I guess that is sort of a good thing in a way. I use this as a release, and a wonderful release it is, but thankfully life has just been generally peaceful overall recently. Oh, work is still hectic as usual, and the normal annoyances are still there, but … eh. Good stuff. :) Anyway, I have been hanging out with guys from work and other friends more too, which is a nice change of pace.

Also recently John and I went camping (with a pile of other people including his brother). The whole experience was pretty cool. I started off with the LONG drive up in my car, which is gorgonomous for long trips. I believe I made it from Ann Arbor to the bridge in just over 3 hours (yes I was going fast). On arrival in Houghton we chilled for the evening, watched SNL etc.

The next day I got to see John’s church which was cool, and then we spent a very productie afternoon playing Warcraft III on 4 differnet computer (2 each at the same time). For anyone who has the opportunity to try it, I highly recommend it). There is nothing more relaxing than enjoy a Sunday afternoon doing nothing productive and knowing the only thing to do in the next 2 days is go camping. :)
We hung out Sunday night, then packed the cars on Monday and headed over to Pictured Rocks for some camping. The camping was awesome… it’s been too long since I last went. We made fires, Pete played with sharp wood-chopping implements more than anyone I have ever seen, and we just generally enjoyed ourselves. The lakes are GORGEOUS up there and every thing else for that matter. I highly recommend it to anyone. :)
