They sneaky :)

Yesterday saw a pleasant day at work for me, and then afterwards a concert. Quite a good concert if I do say so myself. I had the pleasure of running sound, which I thoroughly enjoy whenever I get the chance. Performing were 2 bands, Keep Right, which is my best friend John Kopinski’s band, and they were awesome to experience, as usual, and then following Keep Right’s excellent opening performance, Adam’s Apples, aka Christopher Adam, aka C. Adam P., aka a lot of other things (the band my brother plays bass in) performed an awesome show, which was also quite enjoyable.

Following this, my brother was kind enough to instigate having everyone at the concert sing me happy birthday, which was cool enough as it it, but then he also orchestrated, with Pink and my mother, the presence of a very large birthday cake with Superman theming, which was awesome. Thanks all involved in that. Anyway, pretty much best birthday (couple of days) ever. I had quite an enjoyable time. :) Pictures are forthcoming of both the debacle at Joe’s and the cake.

Then today I had a great time rollberblading around and having a nice lunch outside during the glorious day with Francine, though I made her late for work, which I hope doesn’t cause her problems. :) Afterwards, I headed home for various useful slackage with John. Overall, life is pretty good. :-D

What a good day :)

I had a wonderful birthday, as usual. Thanks to all who participated. :-) The morning started off with a visit with Matt to Mr. Proctor, our high school math / calc teacher. He is retiring and today was his last day of class. He is one of the three coolest teachers I have ever had, and Dexter will not be the same without him.

Following a little bit of work, one of my best friends took me out to lunch, which was quite enjoyable. The weather was perfect and a nice lunch outside was excellent to enjoy it. She also got me an awesome engraved compass which I have been showing off to everyone I see. :)
The afternoon continued with some more work (yeah, it has to happen occasionally) and some frisbee throwage. We then headed over to Joe’s crab shack for some hang-outage before I had to head back for the next round of celebration. Lucky for me, they managed to mention to the staff there that it was my birthday, and before departing, I ended up dressed in a hula skirt and coconut bra (which someone was kind enough to shove a dollar into) riding a stick horse around while spanking an inflatable monkey and having happy birthday sung to me. :-) Talk about an enjoyable way to make a total ass out of myself. It was quite enjoyable hanging out with the guys from work, though I believe I saw a camera phone, so we shall see what comes of that in the morning.

Following that I headed home for the family birthday dinner. John and Alicia completed the family in addition to all the other regular Stauffers. Dinner was excellent, and since I said I wanted no presents, there were of course a myriad of them. Highlights included 23 liters of Mountain Dew Code Red (thank you Johannes), a cool remote control for my computer (thank you Matt) and various clothing, junk food, CDs, giant frisbees and the largest assortment of random wrapping paper I have ever seen (thank you Mom, Dad and Abbie). We then proceded to play with the giant frisbee thing after dinner, which led to more than a couple of laughs as we ran around the yard like complete and total idiots.

So, thank you everyone for a wonderful birthday. It ‘twer quite enjoyable. :-D

Twenty three

Thursday, June 3rd, 2004

I got to tell you that he waited all his life
For someone like you to come make the wrong things right
I know he didn’t have the answers all the time
But you can’t tell me that you’ve never told a lie

We’re almost twenty-three and you’re still mad at me
So much that I said to you and I want to take it back now
Twenty-three and it’s so sad to me
You tell the world I’m dead to you
But I know you want me back now

Was it fun for you to watch him fall apart? (Watch me fall)
And suffocate him while you held him in your arms (in your arms)
I swear to God I wish he never let you in (let you in)
And I just hope we never hear from you again

We’re almost twenty-three and you’re still mad at me
So much that I said to you and I want to take it back now
Twenty-three and it’s so sad to me
you tell the world I’m dead to you
But I know you want me back

Wasted on you (wasted on you)
Wasted on you (so much time I’ve)
Wasted on you (wasted on you)
Wasted on you
On you
On you

Twenty-three and you’re still mad at me
So much that I said to you and I want to take it back now
Twenty-three and it’s so sad to me
You tell the world I’m dead to you
But I know you want me back now
