A New Blog

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

I have an announcement to make: since GeniusInProgress is such an overflowing wealth of posts from me, I’ve decided to start another blog for myself to handle the overflow. See what I did there? That sentence about how many posts I make was what we in the industry like to call “sarcasm.” I only mention it in case you didn’t catch it. You see, I don’t actually post here very much at all, so… oh never mind, you’ll figure it out. Anyway, I hesitate to even mention the new blog here, as the one or two people who might actually check GIP on an occassional basis will almost certainly not care about the new blog at all, but I want the it to be indexed by Google, and linking to it from this blog is a good way to go about achieving that. If you were wondering, the new blog is a programming blog… exciting eh? If you want more of an explanation as to why I’d want to do something like that, read the first post or the “About” page of the new blog. You can find them here:

I haven’t really decided on an official name or design or anything yet, but I have started posting geeky goodness there, mainly because I’ve been even more submersed than normal recently in the deep, dank depths of geekinitude with the current project I’m working on at work. Ah, the joys of being a geek.

I’ve found my calling in life

Friday, July 2nd, 2004

Yesterday my brother and I were sitting in the family room chilling and playing guitar when I looked out the back window and saw a couple deer chilling out in the back yard. So, on a whim, I decided to serinade them with some singing, so I grabbed the trusty guitar and wandered out through the screen door, where I proceded to play guitar and sing to the deer. Now having an animal look at you like you are crazy is an entirely different experience than having a human do it (I know this from experience) but the deer didn’t run, they stayed and listened. I think they liked my musical offerings.

Then I decided to make up a song… something to do with marinating and venison… they didn’t seem to like that one as much, because they ran away (I’m serious). Either I am a lousy song writer, or they just didn’t like the lyrics.

Either way, how many people do you know who have played live music for wild deer before, and had at least a semi-captive audience? Ah, it is the good life. :D
