Calling in the big guns

Friday, September 1st, 2006

After quite a decent amount of time spent fighting spam comments, even when I’m not posting much at all (it’s been almost 3 months), I decided to switch over to WordPress. Matt was kind enough to port my design over to the new templates, and after I spent the time to figure out how to fix the brokem importer, they had come out with a new version that fixed all the problems for me. So now, here I am, with a fun new blog software interface, which will hopefully cut down substantially on the stupid comment spammers.

I’m back!

Saturday, December 31st, 2005

Well, after a brief hiatus, my server is back up and running. It is now living in my very own basement. Maybe someday I’ll get expand to a couple of servers and perhaps a rack or something fun of that sort. For now, the various web sites that live on it are back once again, and all can be well with the world once more.

Go for three!

Monday, July 12th, 2004

It’s Monday, so I’m posting.

Over.

And over

and over again.

That little voice on my shoulder (in this case with a voice REALLY resembling the voice of a certain person I know) keeps telling me I want to buy a motorcycle. The little voice on my other shoulder (my brain perhaps, I don’t know because I keep ignoring it) says I shouldn’t get one because I will kill myself when that 1/2 hour period of being cautious is over and I realize how bloody fast the things go. :-D Ah, well we shall see.

In other news, the weekend canoe trip was quite cool, and I got an upper-body workout like none other. It may take a day or two for the soreness to subside, but it’s a good sore… or something like that. Anyway, there was much splashage and tipping of canoes… (not my fault they flipped, honest.. I was just rocking their canoe to uh, sooth them, yeah, that’s it) and it was generally a good time. The weather was splendid also, which was a plus. I have had more fun on that river in the recent past with different company, but hey, not every outing is perfect. :-)
Well, back to work for now.. maybe I’ll post a couple more times in the next couple of hours, maybe not, but with the weather like it is, this is shaping up to be a splendid evening spent indoors playing games or something of the sort.

Scurry, sniff, FLINCH!!!

Oh sure, like we all haven’t broken into song on sentry duty!

What? What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Sie haben meine Hummer gestolen.

It’s not my feet; I just washed them!

Shall we run for our lives?

Oh yes, lets.

Sarcasm is a foreign language to you, isn’t it?

I’ve got a good mind to join a club and beat you over the head with it.

Bastard Son of Barney! Die! Die, stuffed ball of fluff! Illegitimate Teletubbie! Die, you Muppet from hell! Die, you foam ************!

Goody, I get to play cards.
:-D

Well, now that I got that out of my system…

YOU’RE NOT GONNA MAKE A CANOE OUT OF ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Father’s Day!

Sunday, June 20th, 2004

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. :-) Thanks especially to my dad for teaching me all that fun stuff I need to know. Check out the lyrics… it’s an awesome song, and it’s got POSITIVE lyrics about dad. Woohoo!

What’s a dad for dad?
Tell me why I’m here dad
Whisper in my ear that I’m growing up to be a better man, dad
Everything is fine dad
Proud that you are mine dad
Cause I know I’m growing up to be a better man

Father I will always be
That same boy that stood by the sea
And watched you tower over me
Now I’m older I wanna be the same as you

What’s a dad for dad?
Taught me how to stand, dad
Took me by the hand and you showed me how to be a bigger man, dad
Listen when you talk, dad
Follow where you walk, dad
And you know that I will always do the best I can
I can

Father I will always be (always be)
That same boy that stood by the sea
And watched you tower over me (over me)
Now I’m older I wanna be the same as you
The same as you

Father I will always be
That same boy that stood by the sea
And watched you tower over me
Now I’m older I wanna be the same as you

(When I am a dad, dad
I’m gonna be a good dad
Do the best you could, dad
Always understood, dad
Tell me I was right, dad
Opened up my eyes, dad
Glad to call you my dad
Thank you for my life dad)

Woohoo, more pics!

Monday, February 9th, 2004

Well, I finally decided to use the digital camera and take some pics of one of my new pieces of sound equipment I got. Check it out here, but be careful clicking the links… the full pictures are ginormous. If all goes well, it will only be one part of an excellent recording studio setup in my house somewhere. Hurray. :-)

I’ve got new toys

Saturday, February 7th, 2004

I picked up some fun new toys today, courtesy of some friends. I am now on my way to having a pretty sweet recording studio setup. My computer now has somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 different inputs, 8 of which are mounted on the front plate of the computer, underneath the CD-ROM drive. I have this courtesy of this beauty here, the EWS88 MT. I also got this little itty-bitty soundboard, the Fostex 820. It’s a 20 channel, 8 bus beauty, with one small unfortunate problem in the power supply which causes it to not turn on, but that’s not a big problem, since I like taking things apart. I’ll post a picture of it if I can get the digital camera working.
